Yuma Art Center & Historic Yuma Theatre

Add to plan Remove from plan

The Yuma Art Center is home to the City of Yuma's Division of Arts and Culture which advances the arts by providing distinct opportunities for community participation and artistic growth. With over 100,000 visitors each year, the Yuma Art Center annually produces several theatre productions, over twenty visual art exhibitions, holds nearly fifty unique performing and visual arts classes, facilitates the annual summer mural program, screens dozens of films, supports the North End Artists Cooperative, coordinates festivals and special events, and advances public art throughout Yuma. The center is also home to the Historic Yuma Theatre, a 643 seat theatre that dates to 1912, and the 270 Black Box Theatre. Advocacy is strengthened through the City of Yuma Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission.

As a local arts agency, the Yuma Art Center is committed to building a healthy, vibrant, and diverse arts community in the greater Yuma area. To do so, the Division of Arts and Culture works closely with the Arizona Commission on the Arts, Arizona Citizens for the Arts, Americans for the Arts, American Alliance of Museums, the National Endowment for the Arts, and many regional arts and culture agencies on a variety of initiatives across the industry.
